Argentine Tango

A uniquely transformative social skill, art form and movement therapy

Mindfully connecting with the body, the heart, the music, the partner, the space and the group.
Mindfully stepping to the beat in this ‘walking dance.’
Playing with the music and basic combinations.

No dance experience or partner required.

Leather-sole shoes or thick socks required to permit slight gliding motion.
No rubber soles. Heels recommended for ladies but not required.
Casual, comfortable attire.

Weekly Friday night group class 7:30-9:00 PM.
In April only- there will be a dedicated class for UK MoveWell from 7-8 (see below)
Non-UK dancers can join the UK class at either 7 or 7:30.
You may drop-in to any or all classes- this is not a series.
Cost $10

UK MoveWell participants may attend any Friday in April at no charge.
UK class is 7:00-8:00 PM
It is helpful, but not required to notify Dr Patterson if you plan to attend.

Saturday April 13th
Tango Practica from 8:00-10:30 PM
No lesson- everyone helps everyone in this fun, group learning experience

You are welcome to bring snacks and drinks to share at the practica

Due to chemical sensitivities, please be judicious in your use of fragrances

Tango Fundamentals for New Dancers
Experienced dancers also welcome
Sundays in April (except Easter) from 5:15-6:30 PM

Focusing on Tango Fundamentals like:
Walking and turning;
Connection, leading and following;
Rhythm and musicality.
Learn to relax mind and body and have fun on the dance floor.
Sign up with a partner or alone. We switch partners during the class and make sure that everyone gets plenty of dance time.

“Followers’ hour” – New Argentine tango class
(mostly for women, but gentlemen can join too)
Cost $10
Sundays: April 7th and 28th, 4pm – 5:15pm
Instructor: Nataliya Timoshevskaya
New and experienced dancers are welcome! During these classes we will intensively work on follower’s technique, going through a variety of exercises to enhance balance, flexibility, precision, elegance, musicality and a feeling of presence.
